Get Rid of Acne Scars
Without Expensive Doctor
Visits
The removal process of acne
scars is something that does not happen overnight. To
truly get rid of acne scars, one must
undergo a series of treatments, whether it be an operation
in worst case scenarios or through the use of home
remedies for mild
scars.
So how do you go about removing the scars? Well before you rush
off and try to make your face look brand spanky new, you need
to make sure you current acne (if any) is under control. Why is
this advised?
If you begin to remove scars while other acne is kicking in, it
will flame up and you will be constantly removing scars. So it
is best to seek treatment, naturally or otherwise, to get your
acne controlled before moving on with scar removal. They say
time heals, and that is certainly the case with
acne.
Once a good year and a half has passed with no real signs of
acne outbreaks, one must begin the removal process. This is
done by typically applying some sort of chemical peel to the
affected area. Depending on the severity of your scars, you
have a few options for
peels.
-
Glycolic acid is used for mild
scars.
-
Trichloracetic acid is used for medium
scars.
-
Phenol acid is used for severe
cases.
It is hard to specificy exactly which option is best for you.
Based on results taken over the years, a medium solution works
best for all cases. The reasoning behind this is that with a
small dosage, you are unlikely to see any real effect. Just the
opposite is true with a high dosage, you may take off more than
you wanted to.
In the most severe attempts to remove scars, you can opt to
have the top layer of your skin removed to the area of
infection or scar. This type of operation is known as
'dermabrasion'. Is this
suggested?
Well you can surely go after this approach is NOTHING else has
worked. The average person though should not have to go this
route. There may not even be any cutting involved as you
imagine it. With the technology of today, the operation could
be performed with a
laser.
It is suggested to check with your physician before ever
attempting this type of procedure. Keep in mind that even with
such procedures, it will take time to truly see your skin heal.
That is why the use of chemical peels and proper foods is
recommended. For information on eating correctly, please see
